Rev. Michael R. Burgos, Ph.D.
President, Professor of Theology & Biblical Counseling
As President of the seminary, Dr. Michael R. Burgos oversees its daily operations, academic programs, and faculty. Dr. Burgos serves as the Preaching Pastor at Northwest Hills Community Church in Torrington, Connecticut. He is the author of a variety of books on theology and apologetics, including Our God is Triune: Essays in Biblical Theology and Against Oneness Pentecostalism: An Exegetical-Theological Critique.
Rev. Steven H. Mathews, Ph.D., D.Min.
Professor of Christian Ethics
Dr. Steven Mathews has served in pastoral ministry since 1997, serving churches in Florida and North Carolina. He has also taught on the faculties of several educational institutions. Additionally, he serves as a chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) in the Civil Air Patrol.
Clark Bates, Th.M.
Professor of New Testament
Professor Bates is a PhD student at the University of Birmingham. His research focus is the Pre-Medieval Greek commentary tradition of Ephesians and is collating and translating Greek manuscripts from the 9th to the 12th century to create a critical edition.
Christopher Johnson, M.A.
Professor of Biblical & Theological Studies
Professor Johnson is a PhD student in Biblical Theology and Systematic Theology at Calvary University. Alongside his academic studies, He has also served the local church as an associate pastor, interim pastor, church planter, minister of music, and still continues to do pulpit supply.
Chris Chumita, M.A.
Associate Professor of Biblical Counseling
Professor Chris Chumita is a certified counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). He is the author of Assurance in Christ, Dark Night of the Soul: How to Find the Light When the Darkness Has No End and Light Through the Spectrum: Essays on Biblical Counseling.
Jeremy Dennis, MDiv
Associate Professor of Theology
Professor Jeremy Dennis teaches in our undergraduate program. He earned an M.Div. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He currently is in the process of returning to the military as an active duty Army officer with the intention of pursuing a career as a Chaplain.
Rev. Daniel Ruben, MDiv
Associate Professor of Christian Ministry
Professor Daniel Ruben is a Reformed Baptist and has an M.Div. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He pastors Fellowship Bible Church in Nevada and is a certified counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
Lucas E. Vieira, M.L.S.
Associate Professor of Theology
Professor Lucas Vieira teaches in our undergraduate program, serves as the Board Chairman, and serves FTS in the area of institutional development. He is an administrator & teacher at a classical Christian school, as well as the Director of Music Ministry & Administration at Christ Church in Carpinteria, CA.
