ABOUT

Dr. Russell Threet serves as Senior Pastor of West Park Baptist Church in Ozark, Arkansas, where his ministry centers on the preaching of the Word and the care of souls within the life of the local church.

Alongside his pastoral work, Dr. Threet is actively involved in training others for ministry through theological education and biblical counseling training. He is a Certified Biblical Counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC), and the Fellowship of Biblical Counselors (FBC), and serves as a training center director with IABC and FBC. In these roles, he equips men and women to counsel from Scripture in real-life situations. He is also a Commissioned Addictions Biblical Counselor with The Addiction Connection, with focused experience in helping those struggling with addiction through a biblical framework.

His broader ministry includes teaching, writing, and developing resources for the local church. He contributes to Baptist Publishing House through The Baptist Expositor and is engaged in ongoing work related to biblical counseling, pastoral ministry, and the application of the sufficiency of Scripture in complex situations, including ministry to individuals and families affected by autism. He is the author of the 2026 book Ministry Across the Spectrum: Autism, Faith and the Local Church.

He and his wife, Sarah, have been married since 2008 and have three sons. In addition to his ministry work, he enjoys time with his family and hunting.
