ABOUT

​

Dr. Michael R. Burgos took the helm as president of Forge Theological Seminary in 2022. As president, he oversees its daily operations, academic programs, and faculty. Dr. Burgos serves as a preaching pastor at Northwest Hills Community Church in Torrington, Connecticut.  He is also a certified counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and serves as editor of Humanities and Social Sciences

 

Dr. Burgos is the author of a variety of books on theology and apologetics including Kiss the Son: A Christological Apology in Response to David K. Bernard’s The Oneness of God, Credo: An Introduction to Confessional TheologyOur God is Triune: Essays in Biblical TheologyJehovah’s Witnesses: A Concise Introduction to an American Cult, Counterfeit Religion: A Biblical Analysis of Cults, Sects, & False Religious Movements, Against Oneness Pentecostalism: An Exegetical-Theological Critique, and Light from the Spectrum: Essays on Biblical Counseling (co-authored with Chris Chumita).

Dr. Burgos grew up in the Hudson Valley region of New York State and married his high school sweetheart, Marion. Today they have nine children and two grandchildren.
