ASSOCIATE OF THEOLOGY

This 60 credit hour degree program is designed to provide the student with a solid understanding of the things of God. The program is comprised of 20 courses designed to give students a well rounded theological education.

ThA Program Key

BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY

The ThB program is comprised of 120 credit hours of study with an optional thesis project. Students will gain a substantial understanding of biblical Greek, biblical studies, theology, church history, missions, and apologetics. All research projects will be published in an open source format by FTS. Students who have previously completed the ThA program are gained automatic admittance and are required to complete only 57 credit hours of study.

ThB Program Key

MASTER OF ARTS - RESEARCH

The MA is a 60 credit hour hybrid research degree, partially based upon the Oxford method of education. MA students are required to read extensively according to one of eight available concentrations, complete Scholarly Research/Writing, produce a research proposal, and produce a master's thesis comprised of no less than 90 pages of primary research. The MA program affords students the occasion to conduct significant research in their area of interest. Students who complete the MA program are automatically approved for entry into the ThD program.

All research projects will be published in an open source format by FTS. In some cases, a student who has already produced a published work which has not been utilized in a degree program previously, may be considered for the MAR.

Prerequisite: Students who wish to gain entry into the MA must possess an undergraduate degree in biblical and(or) theological studies.

MA Program Key

MASTER OF ARTS IN BIBLICAL COUNSELING

The Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling (MABC) is a 54 credit hour degree program. There are a total of  12 courses consisting of 42 credit hours. Additionally, students will complete the requirements for Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) Pathway Through CertificationFTS will recognize the completion of ACBC's requirements as the equivalent of 12 credit hours of study. Upon certification, FTS will award the degree. Students who already possess ACBC certification may complete the requisite coursework for degree completion.

 

Prerequisite: Students must possess an undergraduate degree or must be capable of demonstrating rudimentary proficiency in related subjects.

MASTER OF DIVINITY

Our MDiv program is comprised of 93 credit hours of study. The program is comprised of 19 essential courses and 12 electives.

MASTER OF THEOLOGY

The ThM program is a 36 credit hour research degree based upon the Oxford method of education. ThM students are required to complete Scholarly Research/Writing, produce a thesis proposal, and a thesis of no less than 100 pages of primary research. All research projects will be published in an open source format by FTS. In some cases, a student who has already produced a published work which has not been utilized in a degree program previously, may be considered for the ThM.  

Prerequisite: ThM students must possess a minimum of 90 credit hours of graduate level coursework or both an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree in a related discipline.

ThM Program Key

DOCTOR OF MINISTRY

The DMin program is a 36 credit hour research degree based upon the Oxford method of education. DMin students are required to complete Scholarly Research/Writing, produce a dissertation proposal, and a dissertation of no less than 150 pages of primary research. Research topics must relate to some aspect of practical theology (e.g., preaching, apologetics, biblical counseling). All research projects will be published in an open source format by FTS. In some cases, a student who has already produced a published work which has not been utilized in a degree program previously, may be considered for the DMin.  

Prerequisite: DMin students must possess a graduate degree  in a related discipline of 50 credits or more.

DMin Program Key

DOCTOR OF THEOLOGY

The ThD program is a 48 credit hour research degree based upon the Oxford method of education. ThD students are required to complete Scholarly Research/Writing, produce a dissertation proposal, and a dissertation of no less than 200 pages of primary research. ThD research must demonstrate substantial proficiency in theological disciplines, including proficiency in biblical languages where required. All research projects will be published in an open source format by FTS. In some cases, a student who has already produced a published work which has not been utilized in a degree program previously, may be considered for the ThD.

Prerequisite: ThD students must possess either an undergraduate degree  (minimum 120 credit hours) in biblical and(or) theological studies and a graduate degree (minimum 36 credit hours) in a related discipline (e.g., Bible, Theology, Religion), or a graduate degree consisting of 90 credits in a related discipline. Students must also possess a minimum of 9 credit hours biblical language study. However, in some cases students who possess an undergraduate degree in a related discipline and can demonstrate considerable proficiency in related disciplines may be admitted.

ThD Program Key

Upon acceptance into a degree program, students will be assigned an academic adviser. Upon approval, students may also utilize their Pastor or another qualified individual to serve as their adviser. Students interested in this option should indicate their preference on their application.
